John Oliver Cabin, Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountains National Park

This cabin is located in a portion of Great Smoky Mountains National Park called Cades Cove.  It is this cool valley in the mountains that was once the site of a small farming village, and a number of historic structures are still standing.  This is the oldest cabin in the area, constructed by the first European settlers to the area around 1822, and it is basically just one big room downstairs with a smaller loft above.
