Thank You, Veterans

Today is Veterans Day, and I would like to thank all those that have served for this country, and our men and women serving today.

The handsome fellow above is Robert Curtis Miller, my grandpa (mom’s father), and he was a sergeant in the US Army in World War II.  He entered the service in 1940 and arrived in the Aleutian Islands off Alaska only 5 months before Pearl Harbor.  For the next few years he was involved in the Aleutian Islands Campaign (click here for more info), where he took part in three major battles against the Japanese at Attu, Kiska, and Dutch Harbor.

Thanks again to the veterans of this country!

    That’s wonderful that you remember your Grandpa on Veterans Day. He’s part of “The Greatest Generation” (Tom Brokaws’ book).
