Well…not quite daily recently…

Beaver Pond, Wildcat Ridge Wildlife Management Area

A few weeks ago, on a rather warm July morning, Heather and I enjoyed a great hike in the nearby Wildcat Ridge Wildlife Management Area.  The hike led us up some hills, to an awesome overlook with views of the surrounding hills as well as the distant Manhattan skyline, back down some hills, and finally past the good-sized Beaver Pond shown in the photo above.  You might be able to spot one of the beaver lodges right in the middle of the photo (a second lodge is located off the right side of the photo).  The pond was almost entirely covered in lilies, and with all their white and pink flowers, along with the green of the lily pads and trees and nice blue sky, it was a pretty cool and colorful scene.
