Snow Foliage & Blue Sky

The snowstorm last month that brought about 16 inches of snow to our area {photo #1087} produced some wet, heavy snow that had no problem sticking to tree branches and still-turning fall foliage.  For many trees, this resulted in branches that drooped to the ground and quite a lot of limbs that broke off completely.  Some trees appeared to have weathered the storm just fine, including this tree with a bit of lingering foliage almost hidden by the accumulated snow.  This photo was taken the morning after the storm as the sun was rising in a cloudless, blue sky.

    • Thanks! I thought the deep blue of the sky complemented the bright white snow with hints of orange very well.
