Ice Breakup on the Pelly River

Crossing this bridge over the Pelly River is a colorful way to arrive in the town of Faro after a long drive from wherever you might be coming…it’s a long way from anywhere along some rough-at-times roads.  On this particular day, we stopped near the bridge to trek down to the waters edge for a better view of the ice breaking up in the river.  We had been at this location a little more than a week prior, and there was definitely more snow and only a few small areas of thinning ice, so it was pretty interesting to revisit this location and see how quickly the melting was occurring.
