Well…not quite daily recently…

A Little About Me

Hi, my name is Jeremy.  I’m a dad and husband staying oh-so-busy in my 30s.10522513_813597467424_5896666812943187418_o

I work as a cartographer making trail maps for parks in the New York-New Jersey area, and I work closely with tons of volunteers that build and maintain trails.  I really enjoy creating these great maps and have learned a lot about hiking in the NY-NJ region…so if you’d like any hiking suggestions, feel free to ask!

When I’m not working, I keep myself busy in many ways.  As much as possible, I enjoy playing and interacting with my son as he quickly develops into a delightful toddler.  With my wonderful wife, Heather, we all like to travel…not so much to far off exotic locales at the moment, but we still get out to find nearby places to go hike, check out antiques, or hang out with family and friends.  As this blog implies, I like to take photographs, so I of course love to bring my camera along with me everywhere.

In my spare time, I also run, gaze at the stars, play my ukulele, listen to music (the majority of which is Phish), and play with our dog, Leggs.  In addition, I dream about being back in the Yukon, one of my most favorite places…you may be able to guess that from the number of Yukon photos I have selected for my Daily Photographs so far.

So that’s me in a nutshell…making hiking maps, soaking up every moment of parenthood, and taking photographs of life as it unfolds.

    • Thanks! And yes, when I tell people about my job, I usually hear either “What is that?” or “Well, now I can say I know a cartographer!” Still plenty of things to map out, especially when it comes to hiking trails! Thanks for visiting!

  5. I had the chance to spend a couple weeks around the Whitehorse area a few years ago, during a heat wave in summer no less. Enjoyed your Yukon photos because they were taken in winter, something I didn`t get to experience. Thanks!

    • Glad you enjoyed them! Whitehorse and the Yukon in general are great to experience during different seasons!
