30 + 30

30 + 30

Happy Birthday today to two of my best buds, Ken and John!  They’re both that wonderful and young (well, mature young…) age of 30 today, and I hope they have a great day.

Happy 30th Birthday, Ken and John!

Double the Birthdays, Double the Fun

Today is a great day.  Today is a stupendous day.  Today is the day when we can wish both Ken and John a Happy 29th Birthday!  What’s not to love about a double birthday!

Happy Birthday, Ken & John!

Celebrating the Arrival of 2012…with a Bonfire

2011 has come and gone, but 2012 is now here in all its 366-day glory.  And what better way to celebrate the new year than with a wonderfully warming bonfire!  Heather and I joined a few of our close friends for a fun celebration last night/this morning, and with the unseasonably warm weather for a January night, we all enjoyed a toasty bonfire to close out the night’s festivities.  We were also treated to clear, starry skies that made the night even better (see the photo below).

Happy New Year!!

Sitting Under the Monument

Of course John and Mike aren’t actually underneath the 220-foot-tall High Point Monument, but they are sitting on a nice park bench taking in outstanding views of surrounding Sussex County.  This photo was taken only about 12 hours into January 1, 2011, and it was a great way to start off the year (maybe a little chilly, but great just the same).

I hope your 2011 has been a great year so far!

John and the Empire State Building

The Empire State Building is an impressive skyscraper, whether you stare up at it during the day or at night lit up in any of a variety of lighting configurations.  In the photo above, John is next to the standard white lighting of the building, and is almost as tall!  In actuality, he was on the 49th floor of a nearby building (in comparison with the 102-story Empire State Building), enjoying a great party in New York City put together by our friend, Christian.

Whoa, Double Birthday – John & Ken!

Today is the 20th day of January, and do you know what that means?!?  It means that today we have a double birthday to celebrate since John and Ken were born on the same day back January 20th of the year 1983!

So John and Ken, have a Happy Birthday.   Grab yourself some glowstick necklaces/headbands and chomp down on some campfire-roasted wieners to celebrate!

Tri-States Monument

Three friends, three states, and one Tri-States Monument.  In the photo above, Ken K. is sitting in New York, Ken P. is standing in Pennsylvania, and John is standing in New Jersey.  In the background, the Delaware River is flowing just south of the city of Port Jervis.

If you ever visit the Tri-States Monument, make sure to bring along a couple friends!
